You should be able to finish between 7 and 8 in the evening, including an hour or two for breaks along the way. Often, their patients have conditions for which there may be no cure.

 The nurses' duties range from giving tube feeds and medicine to simply interacting with the young patients – providing essential stimulation. They also have another, crucial role - crucial to the patients' families. Looking after a sick child 24 hours a day is both physically and emotionally draining. The effects on the rest of the family can be extensive. The Respite Nurses not only provide the peace of mind for carers to take a real break, however short; they also offer experience and support through the difficult times.

ROSY’s target is to raise £150k per annum to cover and sustain the costs of the extra nurses provided to supplement the existing respite team, enabling a significant increase in the care they can offer. They also aim to provide medical equipment that the nurses need to do their job efficiently. There are now five additional Respite Nurses fully funded by ROSY working within Oxfordshire's Children's Respite Nursing Team. In addition to this ROSY has provided a substantial amount of medical equipment and specialist toys for their use. ROSY also arrange counselling for some of the families that are under severe stress due to caring for their children at home. http://www.rosy.org.uk/
ROSY is part of the Oxfordshire Primary Care Trusts Charity Registered charity number: 1091570

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/__sKkqlOxdZI/SbFTls68PMI/AAAAAAAAADc/YOD64MfJIMw/s400/T2TGarsington2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5310117342825168066" />

How to enter
Early applications please to martinfiennes@btinternet.com.
